The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan, has assigned the acting undersecretaries of the ministries to carry out the duties of the ministers within the framework of a caretaker government to pave the way for holding the elections.
The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council briefed the undersecretaries, whom he met Wednesday evening at the Republican Palace, in the presence of the Vice-President of the council, -Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, on the situation in the country and ways to get out of the current crisis, and heard reports from the undersecretaries about the performance of their ministries in the past period.
He directed the undersecretaries to give attention to enhancing the citizens’ living conditions, adhere to institutionalization in the civil service, avoid partisan and regional polarization, and to work in the team spirit to overcome the mistakes of the past period.
Al-Burhan stressed the importance of detecting the persons involved in the events and holding them accountable, and to confront false media campaigns that are harmful to the security of the country.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, Dr. Nasr-Eddin Ahmed, said in a press statement after the meeting that the meeting assured the need to work hard to get the country out of the unfortunate reality it is living in and to impose state sovereignty until power is handed over to an elected government through fair elections.
